Senior Accountant


Location: Michigan City, IN (Hybrid)
Annual Salary: $104,000 – $120,640


About the Opportunity:


• Join a collaborative accounting team supporting multiple locations and complex accounting operations.
• Hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote. Current in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, with all employees in the office on Wednesdays. Future schedules may become even more flexible.
• Opportunity to take ownership of reconciliations, process improvements, and special projects while making a significant impact within the accounting department.


Overview:


• Perform account reconciliations and accounts receivable analysis; Investigate discrepancies, research balances, and resolve outstanding items.
• Reconcile balances between OneStream and the general ledger, analyzing multiple accounts and determining the validity of account balances and transactions.
• Complete daily bank reconciliations for multiple bank accounts, verifying ACH transactions, wire activity, and ensuring transactions recorded in ERP agree to banking activity.
• Research accounting issues, investigate payment discrepancies, and partner with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and other departments to resolve issues.
• Document accounting procedures, reconciliation processes, and journal entry workflows to establish consistent month-end processes and support future training efforts.
• Support fixed asset accounting activities, capital projects, and construction-in-progress tracking across multiple locations.
• Assist with special projects, process improvements, and system cleanup initiatives to improve efficiency and reporting accuracy.


Preferred Qualifications:


• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
• 7+ years of accounting experience with strong reconciliation and account analysis experience.
• Solid understanding of debits, credits, journal entries, and general ledger accounting.
• Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, and data analysis functions.
• Experience working with ERP systems; experience with SAP, AS400, OneStream, Hyperion, Sage, or similar systems is a plus.
• Ability to work independently, research issues, and solve problems with minimal direction.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and analytical abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, including remote and international teams.


Schedule:


• Hybrid schedule: 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.
• Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday are currently in-office days, with all employees working onsite on Wednesdays.
• Standard hours are 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM with some flexibility.
• Occasional overtime may be required during busy periods


Compensation: $104,000 – $120,640 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
