A well-established organization in Milford, CT is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join its accounting team. Key Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant

As a Senior Accountant, you will:

• 
  
• Perform high-volume cash and bank reconciliations across multiple accounts
• 
  
• Reconcile detailed cash activity to bank records and the general ledger
• 
  
• Review and reconcile balance sheet accounts, including asset and liability accounts
• 
  
• Manage large volumes of financial data within Excel
• 
  
• Utilize pivot tables and other Excel functions to organize, analyze, and reconcile accounting data
• 
  
• Prepare spreadsheets for upload into the accounting system
• 
  
• Research and resolve discrepancies and outstanding reconciliation items
• 
  
• Prepare and post journal entries as needed
• 
  
• Support month-end close and ensure accounting activity is recorded accurately
• 
  
• Maintain detailed supporting documentation for reconciliations and accounting transactions
• 
  
• Assist with additional accounting projects and financial analysis as needed
• 
  

Preferred Qualifications of the Senior Accountant

• 
  
• 5+ years of experience as a Senior Accountant or in a similar accounting role
• 
  
• Strong experience with complex, high-volume cash and bank reconciliations
• 
  
• Experience performing balance sheet reconciliations
• 
  
• Strong general ledger and journal entry experience
• 
  
• Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and working with large data sets
• 
  
• Experience working within a mid-sized or larger organization preferred
• 
  
• ERP system experience required; Oracle or similar ERP experience is a plus
• 
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• 
  
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities
• 
  
• Ability to research discrepancies independently and manage multiple deadlines
