This policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment including but not limited to hiring, placement, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, transfer, leave of absence, compensation, and training.POSITION DESCRIPTIONTITLE: Accountant - SeniorREPORTS TO: ControllerFLSA STATUS: ExemptFT / PT STATUS: Full TimeLOCATION: Corporate Office- Spanish Fort, ALSUMMARYPrepare financial reports to track the organization's assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESPerforms general cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department.Prepares periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.Maintains the general ledger.Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.Reconciles customer accounts and manages accounts receivable collections.Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.Files required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.As appropriate, coordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software system; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software.Perform other related duties as assignedSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITYNoneKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & ATTRIBUTESExtensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.Highly proficient with accounting software.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related discipline preferred3+ years of accounting experience required.WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSWork is conducted indoors in an office environmentMust be able to sit for prolonged periods of time at a desk; must be able to view computer screen for prolonged periods of time; must be able to enter data using keyboard accurately and efficientlyMust be able to communicate effectively via phone or email with personnel at remote job sitesMust be able to lift, carry, push, pull up to 15 pounds at times on an infrequent basis.May be required to climb stairs and laddersEQUIPMENT USEDComputer, telephone, copy machine, adding machine, scannerREASONABLE ACCOMMODATIONSAccommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions#J-18808-Ljbffr
