Our client, a growing and stable organization, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its finance team. This role will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting function, month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional with strong technical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Lead month-end and year-end close activities.
Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals.
Maintain and analyze general ledger activity.
Prepare internal financial reports and supporting schedules.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management activities as needed.
Monitor financial transactions for accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
Assist with audits and provide documentation to internal and external auditors.
Identify process improvements and support accounting system enhancements.
Collaborate with operations, finance, and leadership teams on ad hoc projects and reporting needs.
Mentor and support junior accounting staff as needed.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in corporate accounting or public accounting.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting, and month-end close procedures.
Experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
CPA or CPA track preferred.
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Prior experience supporting audits and financial statement preparation.
Exposure to manufacturing, distribution, logistics, or service-based environments.
Experience identifying and implementing process improvements.
