At Bluesight, our mission is to create groundbreaking solutions that increase efficiency, safety and visibility for health systems, hospital pharmacy, and pharmaceutical manufacturers. We empower our customers to deliver the right medicine to the right patient at the right time, every time. We are a high growth healthcare information technology company with a start-up ''vibe'' but over 3,000 customers using our proven solutions.

Overview

Bluesight is a fast-growing, private equity-backed SaaS company. We move quickly, operate with high standards, and rely heavily on accurate, real-time financial data to drive strategic decisions. We are looking for an ambitious, highly analytical Senior Accountant to elevate our accounting operations, support our rapid growth trajectory, and help scale our entire corporate close process.

We are seeking a Senior Accountant who brings a blend of deep technical revenue recognition expertise and strong general ledger corporate accounting foundational skills. In this role, you will play a dual part: owning the order-to-cash cycle and complex revenue recognition (ASC 606), while actively driving and executing broader monthly close functions across the general ledger. Operating in a high-expectation, PE-backed environment, you will serve as a critical bridge between historical operational accounting, audit readiness, and internal cross-functional partners. The ideal candidate brings a strong public accounting background, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and possesses an active CPA.

Key Responsibilities

General Ledger & Month-End Close Operations

  • Play a critical role in executing a highly efficient, accelerated monthly accounting close across both revenue and general corporate accounting areas.

  • Prepare and record journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses for revenue as well as core balance sheet and income statement line items (e.g., accruals, prepaids, and capitalizable costs).

  • Collaborate across the finance team to identify opportunities to automate manual accounting tasks to compress the close cycle.

Revenue Accounting & Order-to-Cash

  • Own the revenue recognition function from end-to-end under ASC 606. Review and document complex sales contracts for revenue recognition implications, partnering closely with the Corporate Controller and Sales Operations.

  • Manage rigorous billing reconciliation processes, bridging the gap between our CRM (Salesforce), billing systems, and NetSuite to prevent revenue leakage and ensure data integrity.

  • Drive monthly SaaS metric calculations (ARR/MRR) and ensure they tightly align with recognized revenue and billing forecasts.

  • Partner with Revenue Operations to build and maintain a forward-looking billings forecast tied to late-stage pipeline and contract terms.

Technical Accounting & Audit Readiness

  • Lead audit-readiness initiatives, preparing robust audit schedules and workpapers for external auditors.

  • Serve as a technical point of contact for the external audit team during the annual audit and quarterly reviews.

  • Review existing processes for audit readiness and simplify revenue recognition policies.

  • Conduct standalone selling price (SSP) analyses and evaluate prior-period accounting treatments in accordance with US GAAP.

  • Research and draft technical accounting memoranda on complex transaction structures or new accounting pronouncements as needed.

Process Improvement & Systems

  • Design, document, and implement accounting workflows to strengthen key internal controls and mitigate reporting risks.

  • Assist in evaluating financial reporting functions and policies (with an eye toward SEC/IPO readiness standards) in cooperation with leadership

  • Leverage and experiment with emerging AI tools and automation to drive efficiency across the accounting ecosystem.

  • Support M&A activity including due diligence requests, quality of earnings analyses, and post-close accounting integration.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years progressive accounting experience. Public accounting (Big 4 or large regional firm) experience preferred.

  • Experience working within a SaaS or technology business model is required; experience at a PE-backed company is a plus.

  • Experience with complex multi-product contract structures, channel partner agreements, or healthcare customer arrangements is a plus.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; Active CPA strongly preferred.

  • Multi-element revenue arrangement expertise required. Deep US GAAP knowledge, ASC 606 mastery, SEC reporting/IPO-readiness standards.

  • Advanced Excel (Pivot tables, XLOOKUP) and NetSuite experience.

  • Experience with Salesforce and reporting tools.

  • Interest and ability to leverage AI tools for efficiency and effectiveness.
