Senior Accountant - Temporary Newton, Mass.
Role Overview
Established Wealth Advisory firm seeks a Senior Accountant to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, especially related to the billing practices of the firm. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including billing processes, general ledger preparation, financial reporting, and year-end audit preparation.
Responsibilities
" Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
" Manage billing requests for Private Wealth sector of the business, including setting up new fee tasks in accordance with firm policies and processing final fee requests.
" Work with team members to reconcile general ledger and billing systems.
" Assist with the month end close process by analyzing general ledger account activity and reconciling balance sheet accounts.
" Assess risks and internal controls by identifying areas of non-compliance; evaluating manual and automated financial processes; identifying process weaknesses and inefficiencies and operational issues.
" Verify assets and liabilities by comparing and analyzing items and collateral to documentation.
Education, Experience and Qualifications
" Bachelor's degree in accounting.
" 3+ years of related accounting experience.
" Must have a strong knowledge and understanding of accounting principles and documentation standards.
" Excellent communication skills, computer skills and writing skills are a must.
" Proven ability to build strong relationships with all levels of an organization.
