Position Specific Description

The Unregulated Property Accounting teams at FCOE seek a skilled Senior Accountant to join their dynamic organization. This role requires strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills to support accounting operations, financial reporting, and process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate sound accounting knowledge, take ownership of assigned responsibilities, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement while building effective relationships across the organization.

The ideal candidate will be able to:

  • Collaborate effectively with internal business partners and IBM MXDC resources to support timely and accurate accounting operations
  • Independently manage assigned accounting processes, including month-end close activities, journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Apply GAAP, company policies, and internal controls to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance
  • Utilize accounting systems and reporting tools to analyze data, identify trends, and resolve issues
  • Research accounting matters and recommend practical solutions to support business objectives
  • Prepare timely and accurate management reporting and support internal and external reporting requirements
  • Execute SOX controls and maintain the integrity of financial information through adherence to established processes
  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, controls, and scalability

Job Overview

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepares financial reports that are in compliance with GAAP, in a timely manner, to accurately reflect the financial status of the company
  • Maintains a good understanding of, and applies, GAAP, SEC regulations, and relative company policies, practices and procedures
  • Assures accounting integrity of corporate financial data through the implementation of appropriate internal controls
  • Prepares schedules and journal entries
  • Provides guidance and direction to other team members
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors - Accounting / Finance / Business
  • Experience: 4+ years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Masters - Business Administration
  • Masters - Accounting / Finance
