Job Title: Senior Accountant, Operations Accounting
Location: Houston, TX (Full-Time On-Site at 990 Town & Country Blvd.)
Target Pay Range: $110,000.00 – $119,500 / year
POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Accountant, Operations Accounting reports to the Manager, Operations Accounting. This role requires in-depth knowledge of US GAAP, specifically for cost accounting and revenue recognition (ASC 606), and hands-on experience in a SOX environment. Regular collaboration with other departments, including Project Accounting and Project Controls, is crucial to success in this position. The Senior Accountant also has accountability for preparing journal entries, performing project-level financial analyses, preparing account reconciliations, and supporting internal and external audit requests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare monthly project-related journal entries, ensuring accurate coding under US GAAP (including ASC 606) and the company’s Chart of Accounts.
Perform monthly and ad hoc analysis of project-related cost and revenue accounting.
Prepare monthly and quarterly reconciliations for GL accounts and subsystems.
Gather, organize, and process documentation for projects being performed across the company, maintaining large data sets through regular collaboration with internal groups and clients.
Successfully perform key Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls in areas such as Projects, Revenue, and Financial Close Management.
Continuously improve accounting, reporting, and SOX processes, with the ability to lead process improvement initiatives.
Support financial statement audits, incurred cost audits, and internal audits.
Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, AND ABILITIES
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related business field required. An advanced degree and/or CPA/CMA designation is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of full-time accounting experience.
Technical Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency with a high level of accuracy and data organization. General knowledge of US GAAP and SOX compliance required. Experience with Oracle ERP and EPM is a plus.
Soft Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to work cross-functionally and independently.
Industry Compliance: Must be eligible to work under U.S. Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810 regulations.
