Position Summary
Lee Wesley is seeking a Senior Accountant who is detail-oriented, hands-on, and motivated to keep our financial operations accurate and efficient as we continue to grow. The Senior Accountant will handle the day-to-day accounting operations while also providing guidance to junior staff and partnering directly with the CFO. This role is highly hands-on — preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and reports — but also includes leadership in ensuring accuracy, process improvements, and accountability within the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage general ledger activity, journal entries, and reconciliations.
- Lead the monthly close process and prepare financial reports across multiple entities.
- Oversee AP/AR processing and review vendor invoices, payments, and expense reports.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, sales tax filings, and franchise reporting.
- Supervise and mentor 1–2 accounting staff, reviewing work and providing guidance.
- Prepare variance analysis and provide insights to the CEO on financial performance.
- Support budgeting and forecasting efforts with data and reporting.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (CPA a plus but not required).
- 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Hands-on experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks Enterprise, Restaurant 365, NetSuite, or Sage preferred).
- Ability to work independently while providing oversight to junior staff.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
