Salary/Hourly Rate: $78k - $90k Depending on Experience
Position Overview: The Senior Accountant will support month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and cost accounting within a highly regulated environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with direct and indirect costs, cost allocation, labor charging, overhead rates, and audit-ready documentation. Exposure to DCAA/DCMA requirements, FAR cost principles, or government contracting accounting is highly preferred. This Senior Accountant will work closely with internal teams to maintain accurate financial records, strengthen controls, and support compliance. The role also offers the opportunity to take on complex accounting responsibilities and further develop expertise in cost accounting and financial controls.
Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:- Lead and support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Perform cost accounting and project/contract accounting activities, including cost tracking, revenue reconciliations, and analysis in support of DCAA/DCMA requirements.
- Prepare financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, audit schedules, and supporting documentation while ensuring compliance with accounting and contractual requirements.
- Apply and support accounting activities involving both GAAP and IFRS accounting principles.
- Support accounts receivable, invoicing, cash applications, fixed assets, inventory, ERP maintenance, and process improvement initiatives.
Required Experience/Skills for the Senior Accountant:- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Senior Accountant:- Experience with complex ERP systems.
- Project accounting, job costing, or contract accounting experience.
- Experience with DCAA or DCMA audits, reviews, or compliance requirements.
- Multi-entity or multi-company accounting experience.
Education Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
