Senior Accountant

Compensation: Approximately $125,000, depending on experience.
Position Highlights

Responsibilities
- Maintain the general ledger for multiple operating entities.
- Prepare monthly journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Manage the month-end close process.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and management reporting.
- Own the full-cycle accounts payable process, including invoice coding, approvals, vendor setup, payment processing, and vendor communications.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, loans, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Record and reconcile intercompany transactions.
- Track operating expenses across multiple business lines.
- Assist with inventory and cost accounting activities.
- Monitor cash activity and assist with cash flow reporting.
- Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
- Prepare annual 1099 reporting and support outside tax advisors with year-end schedules.
- Assist with accounting system enhancements and process improvements.
- Maintain organized electronic accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Partner with operations personnel to ensure financial information is recorded accurately and timely.
- Support additional entities and special accounting projects as the organization continues to grow.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
- Experience managing the month-end close process.
- Strong accounts payable experience.
- Experience preparing financial statements.
- Experience with reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries.
- Multi-entity accounting experience preferred.
- Experience with inventory, agriculture, manufacturing, distribution, livestock, or cost accounting is a plus.
- Experience with QuickBooks Online preferred.
- Experience with Bill.com, Microsoft Excel, Shopify, or other cloud-based accounting systems is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while meeting deadlines.
