$32/hr - $34hr

Position Overview:
The Senior Accountant oversees financial reporting, audits, and compliance. This role ensures accuracy in financial statements, recommends operational improvements, and supports management with financial insights.

Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:
  • Prepare detailed reports on audit findings.
  • Report to management about asset utilization and audit results.
  • Recommend changes in operations and financial activities.
  • Collect and analyze data to detect deficient controls, fraud, or non-compliance.
  • Inspect account books and accounting systems for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Supervise auditing of establishments and determine the scope of investigation.
  • Confer with company officials about financial and regulatory matters
  • Examine and evaluate financial and information systems for reliability and data integrity.
  • Prepare, examine, or analyze accounting records and financial statements.
  • Review accounts for discrepancies and reconcile differences.
  • Establish tables of accounts and assign entries to proper accounts.
  • Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, and financial commitments.
  • Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems.
  • Audit payroll and personnel records for compliance with tax laws.
  • Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns.
  • Advise clients on compensation, benefits, and long-range tax or estate plans.
  • Direct activities of personnel engaged in financial recordkeeping.
  • Develop, maintain, or analyze budgets and prepare periodic reports.
Required Experience/Skills for the Senior Accountant:
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Intuit QuickBooks, Sage 50, SAP Concur, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle PeopleSoft, Workday).
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and the Office suite.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Excellent reading comprehension and active listening skills.
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly.
  • Experience with auditing and compliance procedures.
  • Knowledge of economic and accounting principles, financial markets, and reporting standards.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Senior Accountant:
  • Experience supervising or training accounting staff.
  • Exposure to ERP and financial analysis software.
  • Experience with tax preparation and payroll audits.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a drive for continuous learning.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • A CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
