Senior Accountant
Job Location: Petaluma, California
Job Type: Temporary
Pay Rate: $55-$60/hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8am-4:30pm
Description of Position:
Do you have experience as a Senior Accountant? Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support our accounting team during a 4-6 month assignment. This role will play a key part in managing month end close activities, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting the implementation of a new ERP system.
The ideal candidate will have strong GAAP knowledge, experience with financial reporting and reconciliations, and a proven ability to adapt to new systems and processes.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead month end close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
- Perform complex account reconciliations, including balance sheet and key subledgers (AP, AR, inventory, fixed assets, and deposits)
- Prepare and review journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation
- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of general ledger accounts
- Monitor accruals, deferrals, and account adjustments
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and ad hoc financial reports for management
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies

Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 4-7+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting processes
- Experience supporting ERP implementations such as Infor, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics
- Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
