Senior Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support financial operations within a growing structural steel fabrication company serving commercial construction projects throughout the Midwest. As a Senior Accountant, you'll work closely with leadership, support project-related accounting activities, and play a key role in maintaining the financial health of a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities for the Senior Accountant
General Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Prepare and post general ledger journal entries
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain supporting schedules
- Assist with month-end close activities
- Analyze financial results and maintain accounting accuracy
- Support payroll-related accounting activities
Project & Construction Accounting
- Review project cost reports and billing activity
- Support change order tracking and project financial reporting
- Assist with construction-related accounting documentation
- Provide support for AIA billing and project accounting processes
Accounts Payable & Operational Support
- Enter vendor invoices into the ERP system
- Assist with Accounts Payable processing and vendor communications
- Support day-to-day accounting operations as needed
- Work closely with multiple departments to ensure accurate financial reporting
Qualifications for the Senior Accountant
Required
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- Strong General Ledger and reconciliation experience
- Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs
- Experience supporting month-end close
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred
- Manufacturing, steel fabrication, or construction industry experience
- Experience with AIA billing and change orders
- Familiarity with project accounting and job costing
- ERP system experience
