Senior Accountant – Remote | Nonprofit

Salary: $100,000–$110,000
Location: Remote – Pacific Time Zone

A Portland-based nonprofit organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its fully remote accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for a nonprofit accounting professional who understands the unique financial reporting, compliance, and operational needs of mission-driven organizations.

Nonprofit experience is required.

Responsibilities

Own key components of the month-end and year-end close process, including journal entries and account reconciliations
Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards
Manage general ledger activity and ensure accurate reporting of assets, liabilities, revenue, and expenses
Support annual audits, compliance reporting, and other nonprofit financial requirements
Partner with leadership and internal teams to improve accounting processes, controls, budgeting, and financial reporting

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Prior nonprofit accounting experience is required
Strong month-end close, financial reporting, and general ledger experience
Solid understanding of US GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles
Must be located within the Pacific Time Zone
