Our client is an innovative organization focused on impact investing and projects designed to create meaningful social and financial outcomes. They are looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team and take ownership of a broad range of accounting responsibilities in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced accountant who enjoys more than just the day-to-day close and wants to be part of a team that is thinking differently about how technology, including AI, can improve the way finance and accounting work gets done.

The right person will be technically strong, curious, and comfortable digging into complex accounting issues while also looking for ways to make processes more efficient.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
• 
  
• Prepare and review financial information for accuracy and compliance with GAAP
• 
  
• Analyze account activity, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies
• 
  
• Support AP/AR, cash management, and other day-to-day accounting activities as needed
• 
  
• Assist with audit preparation and provide schedules and supporting documentation
• 
  
• Contribute to process improvements that increase efficiency, accuracy, and transparency
• 
  
• Partner with internal teams to research and resolve accounting questions and issues
• 
  
• Participate in projects involving new technologies and innovative approaches to accounting and finance
• 
  
• Identify opportunities to leverage technology and AI tools to improve accounting processes and workflows
• 
  

What You Bring

• 
  
• Strong accounting background with hands-on experience across general ledger, reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting
• 
  
• Solid understanding of GAAP and technical accounting concepts
• 
  
• Experience analyzing financial information, researching discrepancies, and solving accounting issues
• 
  
• Strong Excel skills and comfort working with accounting and financial systems
• 
  
• Audit experience preferred
• 
  
• Experience in a complex, multi-entity, investment, nonprofit, or mission-driven environment is a plus
• 
  
• Focused on AI and emerging technology and an interest in finding practical ways to apply new tools to accounting and finance
• 
  
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines
• 
  
• A proactive, collaborative approach and willingness to ask questions, take ownership, and dig into problems
• 
  

$85,000 - $90,000
