Position Summary

The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of financial reporting, overseeing general ledger operations, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards within a fast-growing healthcare technology environment. This individual will contribute to the monthly close, audit readiness, and process improvement initiatives while partnering cross-functionally to support a dynamic, evolving business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and management reports, including detailed variance analysis
  • Own balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and audit readiness
  • Manage general ledger activity, including journal entries, accruals, and subledger integrations
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., Operations, FP&A, HR, and IT) to resolve accounting issues and improve financial processes
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal accounting policies; support regulatory and audit requirements
  • Prepare audit schedules and act as a key liaison for external auditors
  • Drive process improvements and internal controls, including system enhancements and automation initiatives
  • Support tax compliance and filings as needed (e.g., sales/use tax, property tax, R&D credits)
  • Assist with system implementations, upgrades, and optimization of accounting workflows
  • Mentor junior accounting staff and contribute to a collaborative, high-performance team environment

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including:
    • Public accounting experience (Big 4 or regional firm strongly preferred)
    • 3+ years of hands-on general ledger accounting experience in an operating company
  • Experience within healthcare technology, SaaS, life sciences, or similarly complex environments strongly preferred
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge of US GAAP
  • Proven experience with ERP systems (NetSuite strongly preferred) and advanced Excel proficiency
  • Systems-oriented mindset, including experience with system implementations, upgrades, or process automation
  • Demonstrated ability to improve accounting processes and strengthen internal controls
