Position Summary

May Institute, Inc is seeking an experienced financial professional for the role of Senior Accountant located in Randolph, MA. Reporting to the Financial Controller will help manage daily accounting activities and financial reporting and ensure compliance across the organization.

What You'll Do

  • Financial Data Management and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records. Prepare comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Audit: Play an integral part in the annual financial statement audit.
  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) applicable to nonprofits. Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations and month-end close activities.
  • Analyze financial results and investigate variances.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting. Experience with non-profit accounting. CPA certification is a plus
  • Proven experience as an accountant or in a similar finance role
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in financial data management
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and handle confidential information
