We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Accountant to join our Accounting and Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to oversee the financial operations of our company in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of Construction Accounting, Progress Billings, NTO's, and Florida Lien Law. We value leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This position requires a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in the finance or accounting field.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for the following:

1. Overseeing all financial operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, and financial reporting.
2. Managing and coordinating all fiscal reporting activities for the organization including organizational revenue/expense and balance sheet reports, reports to funding agencies, development and monitoring of organizational and contract/grant budgets.
3. Ensuring that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
4. Developing and maintaining systems of internal controls to safeguard financial assets of the organization.
5. Leading the coordination and activities of independent auditors ensuring all audit issues are resolved, and all compliance issues are met, and the preparation of the annual financial statements is in accordance with U.S. GAAP and federal, state and other required supplementary schedules and information.
6. Administering the company's construction accounting, including progress billings, NTO, and compliance with Florida Lien Law.
7. Providing strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization.
8. Optimizing the handling of bank and deposit relationships and initiating appropriate strategies to enhance cash positions.
9. Evaluating and advising on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies, and regulatory action.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. A CPA, CMA, or other financial certifications are highly preferred.
2. Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position, preferably in the construction industry.
3. Proven working experience with Construction Accounting, Progress Billings, NTO, and Florida Lien Law.
4. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization.
5. Strong problem-solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
6. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
7. Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
8. Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations.
9. Able to analyze financial records and transfer information.
10. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software.
