Senior Accountant

Location: Stamford, CT
Schedule: In-Office (Minimum 4 Days per Week)
Compensation: $85-100K

Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support the accounting team during a critical reporting and audit cycle. This role will be responsible for assisting with month-end close activities, account reconciliations, accounts payable functions, audit support, and various accounting projects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting foundation, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the accurate and timely completion of monthly accounting close processes.
• 
  
• Prepare and maintain balance sheet account reconciliations.
• 
  
• Support accounts payable activities, including invoice processing and payment application.
• 
  
• Compile and prepare documentation for external auditors during annual financial statement audits.
• 
  
• Assist with data reconciliation and accounting system integrations related to acquisitions or business transitions.
• 
  
• Perform financial analyses and support special projects as needed.
• 
  
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records and supporting documentation.
• 
  
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders on accounting and reporting initiatives.
• 
  
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• 
  
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 
  
• Minimum 5 years of accounting and financial reporting experience.
• 
  
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• 
  
• Experience with month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• 
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• 
  
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• 
  
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• 
  
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• 
  
• Proven ability to build effective working relationships across teams.
• 
  
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
• 
  

Preferred Qualifications

• 
  
• CPA designation strongly preferred.
• 
  
• Experience supporting external audits.
• 
  
• Experience working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

• Background in complex accounting operations, consolidations, or acquisition integrations is a plus.
