SSWG operates two businesses within the water infrastructure space. Seven Seas Water, which provides water treatment and desalination for governmental, hospitality and industrial customers in United States, Latin America and the Caribbean, and the AUC Group (www.aucgroup.net), which provides decentralized water and wastewater treatment plants for industrial and municipal customers in the United States.

The Senior Accountant will serve as the primary owner of accounting and financial reporting for assigned operating legal entities within the Seven Seas Water Division. This role requires end-to-end responsibility for the general ledger, close process, financial analysis, and audit support for those entities, with certain transactional activities supported by shared services.

This position is being added due to continued and expected growth of the business. The role requires a solid understanding of what a high-quality close process looks like and a mindset focused on continuous process improvement without sacrificing accuracy or controls. This position reports to the Accounting Manager and is located in Tampa, FL. The Senior Accountant responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the primary accountant and owner for assigned operating legal entities, with full responsibility for general ledger integrity, monthly close activities, and financial statement accuracy.
  • Lead the month-end close process for assigned entities, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Analyze financial results and conduct variance analysis of actuals vs budget
  • Participate actively in close meetings and clearly articulate and explain variances between actual results and forecast or budget.
  • Ensure timely close completion while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and U.S. GAAP compliance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, strengthen controls, and streamline close and reporting processes.
  • Support the annual audit with external auditors to ensure timely completion of audit requirements.

Qualification/Requirements:

  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP with the ability to independently apply guidance.
  • Experience owning the full accounting cycle for operating entities.
  • Excellent problem solving and independent decision-making skills
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with a major ERP system (Oracle, SAP, IFS, or similar).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to work cross functionally with all teams.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to work well with team members and other departments at all levels within the organization
  • Well organized with ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment, high growth business environment

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required
  • Minimum of 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • CPA preferred
  • Public accounting experience preferred
