    Description

    Position Overview

Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to take ownership of day-to-day accounting for a growing, multi-location field service organization. This role will oversee core accounting activities across multiple branches and entities, including month-end close, accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, sales tax support, service revenue reporting, and invoice accuracy. Reporting to the COO, the Senior Accountant will work closely with operational leaders at each location and help strengthen accounting processes as the company continues to expand.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional with strong QuickBooks Online experience and the ability to operate with independence in a developing finance function. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys building processes, improving financial visibility, and working closely with leadership in a growth-oriented environment. The position offers meaningful ownership, direct exposure to company decision-makers, and room to grow as the finance team continues to mature.

    Why Join Our Client?

Our client is a growing provider of sales, service, maintenance, and support solutions for power generation equipment. The company operates across multiple branches and serves commercial, industrial, and residential customers in a field-service environment where accurate reporting, branch-level visibility, and operational alignment are essential. As the organization expands through organic growth and acquisition, it is investing in a finance function that can support a larger and more complex business.

This is a strong opportunity for an accountant who wants more than a narrowly defined maintenance role. The Senior Accountant will be an early finance hire with real ownership, visibility to senior leadership, and involvement in integrating newly acquired locations onto common systems and processes. The role is primarily remote, with initial training and occasional travel for acquisition-related needs, expected no more than approximately once per month. The company also offers a full benefits package and a clear opportunity to grow as the accounting function builds out.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead month-end close activities across multiple branches and entities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
    • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and credit card reconciliations within the company's accounting and payment systems.
    • Monitor invoice accuracy and support clean data flow between service operations and the accounting system.
    • Prepare branch-level job costing, work-in-progress, and service revenue reporting to improve operational visibility.
    • Support Texas sales tax filing and compliance activities, including accurate tracking and documentation.
    • Coordinate with operations leaders to resolve accounting discrepancies, improve reporting accuracy, and strengthen branch-level financial processes.
    • Support the financial integration of newly acquired locations, including accounting setup, process alignment, and system adoption.
    • Develop and refine accounting workflows as the company scales and the finance function becomes more formalized.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
    • 3+ years of accounting experience in a professional business environment.
    • Strong QuickBooks Online proficiency.
    • Experience managing core accounting functions such as month-end close, AP, AR, reconciliations, and financial reporting support.
    • Ability to work independently in a primarily remote role while maintaining reliable communication with leadership and branch teams.
    • Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify, investigate, and resolve accounting discrepancies.
    • Comfort working in a growing organization where processes, systems, and reporting structures are still being developed.
    • Ability to travel occasionally for training, acquisition integration, or branch-related needs, expected no more than approximately once per month.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Accounting experience within a multi-location, field service, equipment service, construction, or similar operational business.
    • Experience with job costing, work-in-progress reporting, or service invoicing.
    • Texas sales tax filing or compliance experience.
    • Familiarity with ServiceTrade, Ramp, PayTrace, or similar service management, expense management, or payment platforms.
    • Experience supporting accounting processes during acquisitions, branch integrations, or system transitions.
