Corporate Senior Accountant - Alexandria, VA
Overview
Beacon Hill Financial has partnered with a client in Alexandria, VA to identify a Corporate Senior Accountant for their team. This fully onsite position will support corporate accounting functions, including financial reporting and month-end close, while maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial data. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced corporate setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review journal entries, general ledger activity, and account reconciliations
- Take ownership of key components of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close cycles
- Support the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and variance analysis
- Evaluate financial data and assist with budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning efforts
- Ensure adherence to GAAP, internal controls, and established accounting policies
- Assist with audit activities by preparing schedules, compiling documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries
- Support revenue recognition, accruals, and other technical accounting areas as needed
- Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support reporting requirements and broader business objectives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline required
- Experience in corporate accounting or within a SaaS environment preferred
- Solid understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and general ledger processes
- Experience with ERP systems and strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel preferred
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills with a strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team
