Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee daily accounting operations including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, revenue recognition, expense reports, and payroll.
2. Develop and implement effective financial strategies, manage budgeting and forecasting, and analyze financial reports to identify opportunities for improvement.
3. Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in financial regulations and legislation.
4. Prepare accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
5. Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management, supporting strategic decision-making processes.
6. Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
7. Lead and mentor junior accounting staff, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or CPA certification would be highly advantageous.
2. A minimum of 5+ years of experience in accounting, with a preference for candidates with experience in the energy industry.
3. Proven expertise in budgeting, financial analysis, and strategic planning.
4. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and legislation.
5. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly with Excel.
6. Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
7. Superior leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and motivate a team.
8. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
9. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, while maintaining high-quality work.
10. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions based on data analysis.
11. High level of integrity and professionalism, with the ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
