Senior Cost AccountantLocation: Montgomery, TXCompensation: Competitive Salary + Comprehensive BenefitsAbout the OpportunityOur client, a growing industrial manufacturing organization, is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to join its finance team. This position will play a key role in supporting manufacturing operations through cost analysis, inventory accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will partner closely with operations leadership to provide actionable financial insights that drive profitability and operational efficiency.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport month-end close, account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.Analyze manufacturing costs, labor variances, material usage, and production performance.Maintain and reconcile inventory balances while ensuring accurate inventory transactions.Support job costing processes and ensure accurate project and production costing.Partner with operations and leadership teams to provide financial analysis and decision support.Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.Review financial data, identify trends and variances, and recommend corrective actions.Maintain strong internal controls and support compliance with accounting policies and GAAP.Drive process improvements, reporting automation, and system enhancements.Participate in ERP implementation and optimization initiatives.Support intercompany accounting, audits, and other special projects as needed.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred5+ years of progressive accounting experience.Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, and inventory accounting.Experience working in an ERP environment.Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing or industrial environment.Preferred ExperienceManufacturing, fabrication, industrial services, or project-based accounting experience.Experience with job costing, standard costing, and inventory management.ERP implementation experience is a PLUSWhy Consider This Opportunity?High-visibility role with direct exposure to operational and executive leadership.Opportunity to make a measurable impact on business performance.Strong potential for career advancement within finance and broader business operations.Collaborative environment focused on continuous improvement and growth.Pay Details: $95,000.00 to $110,000.00 per yearEqual Opportunity Employer / Veterans / DisabledMilitary connected talent encouraged to applyThe Company will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and/or security clearance requirements, including, as applicable:The California Fair Chance ActLos Angeles City Fair Chance OrdinanceLos Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for EmployersSan Francisco Fair Chance OrdinanceMassachusetts Candidates Only: It is unlawful in Massachusetts to require or administer a lie detector test as a condition of employment or continued employment.
