This role supports our Tax & Business Advisory practice at the firm and is ideal for an experienced, detail-oriented professional and takes pride in delivering high-touch, personalized service.What You'll DoIn this role, you will be preparing and reviewing individual and entity tax returns, as well as conduct tax planning and support client advisory work. The candidate should be a self-starter with excellent communication skills, who thrives in a collaborative environment, and is excited to be part of a growing and forward-thinking financial services firm.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare complex individual, partnership, S corporation, C corporation, trust, and estate tax returns, including multi-state filings, basis schedules, M-1 adjustments, and estimated tax paymentsProvide proactive tax planning and year-end projection analysis for high-net-worth clients and closely held businessesRespond to IRS and state notices, manage audits, and handle tax authority correspondenceClearly communicate tax results and implications to clients verbally and in writingConduct research on complex tax issues and regulatory changes to ensure ongoing compliance and planning opportunitiesIdentify opportunities to streamline internal processes and implement technology solutions to enhance accuracy and efficiencyManage multiple client engagements, deadlines, and prioritiesMaintain thorough documentation of client communications and workpapers to support audit readiness and internal standardsPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annal financial statements and supporting workpapersReview and approve account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial analysisWhat We're Looking ForWe're looking for team members who are driven, detail-oriented, and client-focused. If you thrive in a collaborative environment, love solving problems, and take pride in delivering exceptional service, you'll fit right in at RiversEdge.Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field requiredCPA or EA designation preferred (or CPA/EA-eligible with active pursuit of licensure within 12 months)Minimum 2+ years of progressive experience in tax preparation and planning within a public accounting firm, family office, or wealth management environmentExperience researching and applying federal, state, and local tax codes, especially as they relate to small businesses, owners, real estate, and pass-through entitiesFamiliarity with estate, gift, and generation-skipping tax planning is a plusAbility to contribute to client meetings, including comfort discussing tax matters with clients and colleagues in a relatable, jargon-free mannerStrong written and verbal communication skills with a client-first mindsetComfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a team environmentA self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and a passion for learning and growthProficient in Microsoft Excel and OutlookAdvanced proficiency in tax software platforms such as ProSystems, QuickBooks, Drake, SurePrep, TaxDome, UltraTax is a plusExperience with cloud-based document management systems and secure file sharing toolsWillingness to adopt new technologies and contribute to continuous improvement initiativesWhat We OfferAt RiversEdge, we believe that taking care of our team is just as important as taking care of our clients.
