Senior Accountant

Location: Woodland Hills, CA
Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 DOE

Position Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their growing finance team in Woodland Hills. The ideal candidate will have strong general ledger experience, month-end close expertise, financial reporting skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and contributing to process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Analyze financial data and investigate variances.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting efforts.
  • Coordinate audits and assist with requests from external auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
  • Review and improve accounting procedures and internal controls.
  • Mentor and assist junior accounting staff as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a senior-level role.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience managing month-end close and account reconciliations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
  • Experience with ERP systems and accounting software.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA designation or CPA candidate preferred.
  • Public accounting experience a plus.
  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, healthcare, or professional services environments preferred.
  • Knowledge of financial planning and analysis processes.
