What You'll Do:

We are looking for a Senior Accounting Analyst to join our Benefits and Protection Accounting team. This role blends core financial reporting responsibilities with dynamic, project-based work, offering both structure and variety in your day-to-day activities. If you enjoy financial reporting, analyzing and interpreting financial data and finance transformation initiatives, then this role is for you!

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform financial reporting activities, including monthly and quarterly close processes for captive reinsurance entities.
  • Analyze financial data and produce reporting deliverables.
  • Participate in ad hoc reporting, research, and project-based work.
  • Support continuous improvement and process optimization efforts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners across actuarial, corporate accounting, and treasury.
  • Review work produced by others and help guide deliverables (informal leadership).
  • Contribute to finance modernization initiatives and reporting tool transitions.

Who You Are:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage complex concepts and transactions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with financial reporting and data analysis tools.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to drive work forward independently.
  • Curiosity and eagerness to learn new concepts and subject matter.

Skills That Will Help You Stand Out

  • Reinsurance-related reporting or prior experience in reinsurance is preferred.
  • CPA designation preferred but not required.
  • Public accounting experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with statutory accounting principles is beneficial.
Salary Range Information: Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salary Range: $104400 - $187200 / year Salary Details:

The following locations are examples of market-specific salary ranges across different geographies. 

  • Wichita, KS: $104,400 - $140,400 / year
  • Des Moines, IA: $110,200 - $148,200 / year
  • Charlotte, NC: $116,000 - $156,000 / year
  • Chicago/Minneapolis: $127,600 - $171,600 / year
  • Los Angeles/New York City: $139,200 - $187,200 / year
Time Off Program: Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided. Pension Eligible: Yes Additional Information:

Work Environments

This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, or Raleigh, NC or Charlotte, NC). You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
