Senior Accounting Analyst Operating Expenses

This position will be responsible for general accounting within the operating expense accounting function, including preparing, recording, and analyzing accounting transactions to ensure the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with GAAP.Duties/Responsibilities:

Prepare and record accounting transactions with accuracy and attention to detailPrepare monthly balance sheet reconciliationsAnalyze general ledger data for completeness and accuracy and prepare financial and variance analyses and reports that contribute to financial reportingMaintain the fixed asset roll-forward schedules and trackers and record the associated accounting transactions, including depreciation expense, CIP transfers, and gain/loss on disposal or saleBuild and maintain prepaid schedules; prepare and record amortization entriesPrepare Tangible Personal Property Tax ReturnsAnalyze general ledger activity and collaborate with department leaders to identify unrecorded liabilities; prepare and record accrualsParticipate in and support with month-end close meetings focused on providing insights into operating expensesCreate thorough process documentation for procedures performed

Assist with the evaluation of current accounting processes and the development and implementation of new processes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting function

Cross-train on responsibilities across the Accounting departmentAd-hoc projects and initiatives, as needed

Required Skills/Abilities:

Understanding of technical accounting policies, regulations, financial statements, internal controls, and proceduresProven experience building and developing processes and procedures with a focus on continuous improvementAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft ExcelSelf-starter with the ability to work both independently and cross-functionally to achieve objectivesDetail-oriented with strong judgment, analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to navigate complex issues and communicate solutionsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities and competing deadlinesAbility to multi-task with strong organizational skillsEffective communicator, able to present information clearly to internal stakeholders

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferredMinimum of five (5) years of progressive accounting experienceHealthcare experience preferredCPA designation preferredExperience with Oracle NetSuite a plus
