Job Summary
This position is located in the Fiscal Services Section (FSS) within the Director's Office Division of the Nevada Department of Wildlife. Incumbents perform various accounting functions from the beginning to the end of the accounting cycle. These functions include processing payment transactions, such as travel claims, travel requests and employee reimbursement requests through the new state accounting system, Core.NV. In addition, this position compiles and processes documentation for the department's airfare credit card. Other duties include processing large requisitions and equipment purchases, as well as communicating with vendors and internal stakeholders, and any other duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will possess both excellent written and oral communication skills.
Accounting Assistants supervise and participate in the performance of clerical accounting work in the maintenance of accounts and accounting records for State agencies.
Essential Qualifications
Three or more years of applicable experience as described in the job duties and graduation from high school or equivalent education.
