About This Job

The main purpose of this job is to support GL and Operations Support group by reconciling various Balance Sheet accounts, reviewing expense reports within Workday, reviewing audit confirmations, and assisting in Escheatment review and filings while ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Essential Functions
  • Serve as subject matter expert on all general ledger related tasks
  • Provide back up support for all positions on the team
  • Balance general ledger accounts for all Commerce Bancshares and subsidiary companies
  • Assist in final preparations for all escheatment filings for every state applicable
  • Monitor and process all incoming audit confirmation requests via Confirmation.com
  • Process monthly purchasing card transactions, including calculating and making appropriate sales use tax entries.
  • Review, approve, and research expense reports
  • Audit purchasing card activity
  • Participate in small projects
  • Administration duties of Company purchasing card system, including adding new users, adjusting limits and hierarchy changes and performing audits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
  • Intermediate knowledge of general ledger accounts
  • Working knowledge of Workday
  • Ability to ask questions, offer solutions, document information, and apply details to future situations
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment when making decisions
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to research answers and provide solutions
  • Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Inquisitive, agile and strong team player with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values
  • Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Education & Experience
  • Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • 3+ years banking, or relevant experience required

*Hybrid Schedule: In office 2 days per week
