Accounting Specialist Full Time $40,000.00 To $50,000.00 Annually Reports to: Sr. Finance Manager Responsibilities Support the Accounts Payable function through regular communication with vendors and timely completion of vendor statement reconciliations. Provide administrative support to Accounts Payable, including preparation of tax exemption certificates and credit applications, and scanning/transmitting documents and checks to Headquarters (Toronto). Track and report monthly chemical and consumable usage, identifying unusual movements and cost drivers. Monitor and analyze Maintenance & Spares (M&S) spending trends and investigate variances. Coordinate with Site engineer to expedite PO & invoice processing for Capex. Provide analytical support for ad-hoc requests requiring data gathering, reconciliation, and root cause analysis. Work closely with cross-functional teams (Operations, Maintenance, Quality, HR) to validate data and improve cost visibility. Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency. Any request from VP Financial Controller & CFO Support with year end Audits. Compliance with all rules & policies regarding health safety, occupational safety, environmental safety, food safety, legal regulations, company requirements etc. Compliance with the Company's Integrated Management Systems which includes, but is not limited to Production, Quality, Food Safety & GMP. Other duties as assigned. Profile Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required 0–2 years of experience in finance, accounting, or data analysis (manufacturing exposure is a plus). Intermediatory in Microsoft Excel and prior experience with ERP systems, accounting software, financial systems is required CPA designation or in progress is an asset Prior accounting, costing, analysis, and financial reporting experience in a food manufacturing environment is an asset Knowledge of basic accounting procedures Excellent time management, analytical, and organizational skills paired with strong conflict resolution and communication skills Strong interpersonal skills partnered with the ability to communicate effectively through proper understanding of the Organization’s goals and expectations of internal customers Ability to deliver results in a timely manner, without compromising on accuracy
