This is an ideal opportunity for a self-motivated professional who enjoys solving complex issues, working independently, and contributing to a collaborative, high-performing team.Position Type: Full-Time (40 hours/week). Monday to Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PMCompensation Range: $28.00 - 36.50/hr (Non-Exempt). Hiring rates may be dependent on a number of factors, including years of directly related work experience, education, geographic location, or special skills.Location: This is an on-site position in Endwell, NY.What You'll Do:Perform detailed monthly reconciliations of balance sheet and income statement accounts, including researching and resolving variancesSupport key accounting functions such as fixed assets, lease accounting, and loan participation processingPrepare and review financial data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with regulatory and internal standardsExecute file loads and support data integrity for accounting and reporting processesIdentify discrepancies, investigate root causes, and take ownership of timely resolutionCollaborate with accounting team members to ensure consistent coverage across functions and responsibilitiesWhat success looks like:Reconciliations are completed accurately and on time, with discrepancies identified, investigated, and resolved proactivelyFinancial data is reliable, well-supported, and ready for reporting with minimal rework or escalationYou operate independently, managing your workload with confidence and minimal oversightIssues are not just identified — you take ownership of resolution and follow through to completionYou seamlessly step in to support shared responsibilities, ensuring continuity of operations across the teamProcesses are continuously improved through your attention to detail, critical thinking, and initiativeYou communicate clearly and collaborate effectively, contributing to a strong, team-oriented environmentMinimum Qualifications:Associates degree in an accounting, finance, or business discipline with 1-2 years of relevant experience; 3-5 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities with minimal oversightStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and drive solutionsDemonstrated initiative and ownership in completing work accurately and efficientlyFlexibility to learn multiple functions and provide cross-coverage within a team-based environmentStrong attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlinesEffective communication skills and ability to collaborate within a small, highly interdependent teamAccounting, finance, or business-related degree preferredProficient in the Microsoft Office Suite programs as well as proficiency with standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, PCs, etc.Visions remains committed to the aspects of diversity and inclusion and will consider alternative education and experience.Important: A skills assessment will be administered to evaluate Excel and reconciliation knowledge as part of the selection process.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Accounting or related fieldPrior experience within financial services, banking, credit unions, or a regulated environmentAt this time, Visions Federal Credit Union will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization or offer any immigration related support for this position.Equal Opportunity EmployerProtected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities.
