    Description

    Employment Type: Full-Time
    Reports To: Branch Manager & Corporate Headquarters

    Location: Torrance, CA 
    Supervises: 1–2 Staff Members
    Recommended Salary: $70,000-80,000 annually

    We are seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Specialist to manage full-cycle accounting operations, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, general ledger, bank reconciliations, month-end/year-end close, financial reporting, and audit preparation.

    This is a hands-on role that also provides guidance and oversight to 1–2 junior staff members. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of accounting experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to independently manage accounting responsibilities through financial statement and audit preparation.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage full-cycle Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP).
    • Prepare customer statements, monitor aging, and follow up on outstanding receivables.
    • Maintain the general ledger, cash book, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
    • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and provide weekly cash reports.
    • Lead month-end and year-end closing activities.
    • Prepare and analyze financial statements, management reports, and account variances.
    • Maintain the fixed asset register, including depreciation and disposals.
    • Prepare audit schedules and coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants.
    • Assist with tax-related reporting and documentation.
    • Liaise with banks and foreign exchange providers regarding banking matters.
    • Process employee expenses and sales commission reports as needed.
    • Train, delegate work to, and provide guidance to 1–2 junior staff members.
    • Support general administrative and operational needs as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
    • Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
    • Strong full-cycle accounting experience, including AR, AP, general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
    • Experience with month-end/year-end close and audit preparation.
    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls.
    • Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
    • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with management.
    • Previous experience supervising or mentoring accounting staff preferred.
