The Department Fiscal Operations Section is a vital hub of financial activity, made up of three key units: Disbursements, Billing and Receivables and Grants.

As a Senior Accounting Technician, you'll be at the heart of our fiscal engine-processing detailed accounts payable transactions based on fiscal policies and procedures with precision and efficiency. Your day-to-day will include managing trust client accounts, reviewing and processing invoices, requisitions, purchase receiving reports, preparing deposits and contract encumbrances-all in alignment with established fiscal policies and procedures.

You'll collaborate closely with a wide range of stakeholders, including County supervisors, front-line staff, internal team members and external merchant vendors. This role offers a dynamic environment where attention to detail, communication and adaptability are key. Additional responsibilities may be assigned, offering opportunities to grow and contribute across the department.

The essential functions for the Senior Accounting Technician position include:

• Review and process invoices, requisitions, receiving reports, and contract encumbrance payments
• Manage trust client accounts and prepare and post payments using an automated financial system
• Manage vouchers and process payment requests related to trust clients'' essential needs
• Research and resolve accounts payable discrepancies
• Prepare fiscal reports and reconcile multiple trust accounts
• Process fiscal year-end transactions and provide technical assistance and fiscal training
• Other duties include cross training and special projects
