Oversee the pricing strategies for both new and existing products, focusing on fixed annuities and life insurance offerings.
Conduct thorough evaluations of reinsurance agreements, covering aspects such as pricing, administration, and management of relationships.
Develop and refine actuarial models and frameworks to aid in product and capital-related decision-making processes.
Set pricing assumptions and assess capital usage for new product lines.
Contribute to capital planning, forecasting, and modeling, including frameworks like risk-based capital (RBC).
Analyze earnings, profitability, and overall financial performance.
Prepare reports for board meetings and track essential business and actuarial metrics.
Support key actuarial functions including valuation, cash flow testing, business planning, forecasting, and risk management.
Engage in special projects and strategic initiatives as required.
Work collaboratively with senior leadership and various departments, such as finance, investments, distribution, accounting, technology, and operations.
Qualifications
Degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline.
At least 5 years of experience in actuarial roles.
Professional designation as an Associate or Fellow from a recognized actuarial body (e.g., ASA, FSA, or equivalent).
High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office and actuarial modeling tools like GGY AXIS or similar platforms.
Experience with annuity and/or life insurance products, focusing on pricing, forecasting, capital analysis, or profitability evaluation.
Strong communication skills capable of conveying complex ideas clearly and succinctly.
Excellent organizational abilities and keen attention to detail.
Ability to succeed in a dynamic, fast-paced setting and adapt swiftly to new challenges.
Familiarity with reinsurance structures and capital modeling, especially for fixed annuity products.
Experience with pre-need and/or final expense life insurance products.
Understanding of U.S. Statutory and/or GAAP financial reporting standards.
Exposure to actuarial valuation, enterprise risk management, or financial planning roles.
