POSITION SNAPSHOT:
Our client operates from the state-of-the-art facility in the Greater Los Angeles area, delivering end-to-end solutions spanning metal additive manufacturing, applied R&D, and advanced engineering services. This position is on-site at the facility. The organization's mission is to accelerate customer adoption and large-scale deployment of metal additive manufacturing for high‑performance applications, particularly within the defense, aerospace, and energy sectors. This is achieved through the use of industry‑leading laser powder bed fusion (L‑PBF) technology, complemented by robust in‑house metallurgy and metrology capabilities. All activities are conducted within an ultra‑secure environment that meets stringent defense and aerospace security requirements, supported by a collaborative, hands‑on operating model and highly experienced technical and business development teams that consistently drive measurable outcomes for strategic customers.
Within this environment, the Senior Additive Manufacturing Engineer plays a critical role in the design, development, and production of metal AM hardware, working cross‑functionally with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and program teams. Ideal candidates will have at least three years of recent, practical experience in a similar role. The position focuses on developing and optimizing AM processes, applying Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) principles, supporting R&D and new application development, and ensuring parts meet customer, industry, and AS9100 aerospace quality standards. Responsibilities include generating technical documentation and process plans, supporting customer proposals, troubleshooting equipment and process issues, and maintaining compliance with safety, ITAR, and DoD security requirements. The role demands strong technical expertise in metal AM systems, materials science, and GD&T, along with a continuous‑improvement mindset, hands‑on manufacturing experience, and the ability to adapt quickly in a fast‑paced, technology‑driven production environment.
Candidates must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance to work in this facility. Relocation assistance within the US may be considered for this position.
