Job Description:

Job Summary

The College of Health and Human Sciences is seeking a Senior Administrative Assistant to join our team. This role will provide administrative support for the main office in the White Lodging-J.W. Marriott, Jr. School of Hospitality and Tourism Management (HTM).

This is a 10-month, academic year position with working months while class is in session.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Provide customer service support for HTM Main office reception area.
  • Provide administrative support to HTM department, faculty, and committee(s).
  • Assist with department event scheduling, communication with industry partners, and event logistics.
  • Manage supply inventory for offices in Marriott and Matthews Hall.
  • Maintain technology inventory for loaner check-out and use by faculty and staff.

What We're Looking For:

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Three years of experience in a clerical or administrative support role.

Skills Needed:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle frequent interruptions, balance multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Advanced computer and related software skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, etc.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with individuals at all levels within and external to the university to support department needs.
  • Ability to interpret policies and procedures to proactively resolve issues or improve processes.
  • Ability to identify problems and implement or recommend solutions.
