Job Summary

The College of Health and Human Sciences is seeking a Senior Administrative Assistant to join our team. This role will provide administrative support for the Department of Public Health.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Serve as the departments social media manager.
  • Perform a variety of tasks including maintaining calendars, scheduling meetings and events, room reservation support, arranging travel, or handling incoming inquiries.
  • Create agendas, flyers, or promotional materials.
  • Maintain department newsletter.
  • Update and maintain bulletin boards, databases, and mailing lists.
  • Assist in preparing reports among many other tasks.
  • Duties will include attending departmental events which may occur during evenings and weekends.

Required:

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Three years of experience in an administrative support role.

Skills Needed:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle frequent interruptions, balance multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Advanced computer and related software skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, etc.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with individuals at all levels within and external to the university to support department needs.
  • Ability to interpret policies and procedures to proactively resolve issues or improve processes.
  • Ability to identify problems and implement or recommend solutions.
  • Drafting, proofreading, and editing skills.
