Description:
Reporting to the Dean of Admissions, the Senior Admissions Counselor serves in a middle leadership capacity to the recruitment/counselor team. In this capacity, the Senior Counselor will supervise the team of admissions counselors. He/she will coordinate the recruitment schedule, as well as provide oversight for recruitment/admissions related events. In addition, the position will carry an adjusted caseload of prospective students to provide the necessary time for the duties and responsibilities associated with the supervision of staff. The Senior Counselor will be knowledgeable and competent in recruitment strategies; admissions counseling; providing presentations to small groups; data analytics; personable; strategic planning; show initiative; team leadership; and serve as an ambassador for the institution.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors required
- Master's Degree preferred in Student Personnel Services, Education, Occupational/Career Education or related field.
- Position requires good organization and interpersonal skills to work with students, parents, staff, secondary schools, community colleges, healthcare industry providers and additional external constituents.

Essential Job Functions:
- Hire, train, supervise, motivate, and in collaboration with the Dean, evaluate direct reports
- Coordinate the recruitment schedule for the team
- Recruitment of prospective students and file management from application to enrollment
- Oversight of prospective student activities/events virtually and on-campus
- Advisement of prospective students on program admission requirements
- Enter data and review files for completion; make data-driven decisions
- Create and maintain travel schedule focusing on recruitment of prospective students through high schools, community colleges, healthcare facilities and community partners
- Collaborate with other campus offices to cultivate student success best practices
- Attend recruitment visits, participate in informational sessions and host groups of prospective students visiting the College
- Prepare correspondence and material for recruitment as well as serves on committees as needed

Position Specifications and Working Conditions:
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment in close proximity to other employees
- Must maintain a current NYS Driver's License and automobile.
- Must be able to work some evenings and weekends.
- Minimal physical effort is required. The employee must be able to operate personal computer and related equipment.
- Travel may be required for making public presentations and for attendance at regional or central meetings and conferences. Employee must be able to drive a private passenger automobile or to arrange for alternative transportation. Reasonable accommodation will be provided for employees with physical limitations.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and use hands along with fingers, to handle or feel.
