Job DescriptionThe APL Logistics Business Developer will focus on developing new business logo. The role is responsible for lead generation, relationship management, opportunity identification, solutions development and closing of deals. The resource will align activities to support the strategic initiatives of APL Logistics and will play a lead role in designing solutions accordingly. Solutions will be comprised of these key initiatives:Expansion of services include international and domestic freight services, Order Management Services, transloading/distribution, and associated supply chain solutions.Identification of opportunities in the markets we serve (North America).Support new product initiatives such as regional distribution/mixing hub concepts, data analytics services, and others.ResponsibilitiesMonitor and evaluate sales and market data for a specific geographic region and produce reports that will assist management in formulating strategy and identifying areas in the market where business can be developed.Employ business development plans to identify, evaluate, and structure key transactions to ensure maximum value through the entire product life cycle.Customer Development and Relationship ManagementDevelop and implement a relationship management plan for potential customer accounts to build relationships with relevant decision makers and influencers within the customer organization and to enable effective two‑way flow of information and resolution of issues.Set clear objectives for each call or meeting; tailor standard materials to make presentations to decision makers and influencers within the customer organization.Develop and implement a customer contact plan to communicate product launches. Act as first point of contact for customer queries and complaints and resolve these, referring complex issues to others and ensuring that the customer receives an appropriate response.Cross‑Functional and Stakeholder EngagementEngage with different product owners, and obtain / provide advice, insights, suggestions or recommendations on how to better deliver to meet customer needs.Support a stronger partnership with key clients, so as to maintain customer satisfaction and loyalty.QualificationsPreferred 3 to 6 years of experiencePreferred experience in Logistics, Transportation, and International BusinessPrevious experience using CRM with accuracy and timeliness of inputPreferred experience in selling Order Management solutionsLocation and CompensationCandidates must be within 250 miles of an APL Logistics facility or office.The typical starting salary range for this position is: $98,280 – $140,400. The actual salary offer will take into account multiple factors including skills, experience, and location.
