Location: Northallerton, North Yorkshire.

Note - Positions are available in Northallerton, Selby, Scarborough and Harrogate

 

Due to the new 'Experts at Hand funding' we are excited to advertise new 'Senior Teacher' posts in our existing, established, Inclusion Hubs within North Yorkshire. This is an excellent opportunity, and we are looking for experienced and skilled teachers who are passionate about inclusion and have management experience. 

 

About the service

The Education and Inclusion Service works in partnership with all schools and settings within North Yorkshire to promote the inclusion, participation and achievement of children and young people with SEND.

These posts will work under our 'Specialist Leads' for each area, and will line manage a team of Inclusion Practitioners, as well as managing complex casework, and leading on an area of practice.

Specialisms are: -

  • Cognition and Learning
  • Early Development
  • Social, emotional and mental health needs
  • Communication and Autism.

North Yorkshire has a robust programme of support and training available for its leaders and managers and you will have a personalised Continuous Personal Development (CPD) plan in your area of specialism and in developing you as a manager.  

About the Role

Managing a specialist team, ensuring they are effectively supported and supervised in line with their relevant terms and conditions, you will work with the Lead, supporting them within schools and settings to support pupil engagement.

Key elements:

  • Developing and delivering a CPD plan for the team
  • Developing and delivering a CPD plan for schools, parents and CYPS colleagues across the county
  • Managing and deploying the team based on fluctuating demand
  • Ensuring high quality services, participating in quality assurance processes
  • Developing relationships with partner agencies to ensure join up and consistency
  • Supporting TMPs (where relevant) the establishment of inclusion bases in schools
  • Assessing and identifying the needs of schools, settings and parents / carers
  • Ensuring statutory responsibilities of the LA are fulfilled
  • Support the professional lead in the delivery of strategic developments.

You should have line management experience and a detailed understanding of how SEND, within the portfolio area, may impact on curriculum access, social and emotional development.
