Andromeda Systems Incorporated (ASI) is seeking an experienced Aerospace Engineer with Active Top Secret clearance to support the Air Systems Group at NAWCAD by providing aeromechanics and systems engineering expertise across software, hardware, and prototype development for Navy and Marine Corps air systems. This is a fully onsite position located in Pax River, MD. This position will be available based on the awarding of a DoD contract.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply engineering principles, practices, and analytical methods to investigate, analyze, design, develop, test, and evaluate military aircraft and weapons systems
  • Review, develop, and prepare engineering analyses, technical reports, change proposals, and supporting documentation
  • Perform system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, and acquisition/resource management functions for aerospace systems
  • Design, develop, test, and evaluate software, components, and subsystems aligned with military aviation and weapons systems functional requirements
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate design, production, and test deficiencies using sound engineering fundamentals
  • Support aerodynamic modeling, simulation, and evaluation activities
  • Provide engineering continuity across the program lifecycle, supporting technical reviews, design assessments, requirements development, and system verification
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, compliant, and effective system performance across all modes of operation

Required Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, operations research, or computer science from an American Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited educational program
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to use Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with military aircraft design criteria and specifications, including development or integration of Automatic Flight Control Systems
  • Background in actuator design, development, testing, or certification
  • Experience with digital flight control system development, integration, or validation
  • Knowledge of flight-critical sensors including angle-of-attack, air data, accelerometers, rate sensors, and inceptors, including development, testing, or integration
  • Experience supporting aerodynamic model development, wind tunnel testing, controls modeling, or requirements development
  • Familiarity with NATOPS or flight manual development processes
  • Experience with Navy flight clearance processes or technical documentation supporting airworthiness
  • Background supporting mishap investigation activities or in-service engineering updates for aircraft systems
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering principles applied to aircraft, weapons, or flight-critical subsystems
