Build what goes beyond — lead the craftsmanship behind space vehicles

Imagine arriving on shift to find a flight article prepped for integration. You review the blueprint packet, confirm your fixtures, and plot the sequence that brings subassemblies together. By day’s end, a thermal blanket is perfectly installed, system pressure checks pass, and data from your test station is packaged for engineering. This is the craft, pace, and pride of our senior technicians.

Your mission

  • Decipher preliminary designs, drawings, schematics, and instructions to define best‑fit production and lab methods.
  • Execute precision assembly/integration to spec, selecting techniques that meet stringent engineering criteria.
  • Run specialized equipment: hydraulic and cooling test consoles; alignment and installation fixtures; ovens, heated tools, positioners; cranes and lift equipment; and computer‑controlled systems.
  • Establish operation order; install components; perform complete leak/pressure verifications; and align control surfaces.
  • Handle/install MLI with care and support SLI installation for both test and flight configurations.
  • Collaborate with engineers at assigned test stations; capture, analyze, and present data via reports, charts, and graphs.
  • Obtain/maintain relevant certifications; conduct rework and associated tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Apply comprehensive knowledge of materials/process specifications and mechanical fundamentals; coach peers in related roles.
  • Support range ops: testing, integration, and hardware movement.
  • Use inspection instruments (calipers, micrometers, DMM) and a wide array of hand/power tools; mix epoxies; and leverage assembly tooling/composites techniques.
