A vacancy exists in the Department of Aging, Senior Centers and Wellness Division, for the position of Senior Center Director.
Pay Schedule I, Grade 30, Regular Schedule: 35 hours per week.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelors degree in gerontology, recreation, education, health, business administration, public administration, marketing, public relations, nursing specialty, accounting, or a social or behavioral science;
Plus
Two years of experience providing services to older adults.
Additional experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis, up to a maximum of 4 years, for the required education.
Education beyond a bachelors degree may be substituted on a year-for-year basis, up to a maximum of 2 years, for the required experience.

Some positions within this classification may require possession of a valid drivers license equivalent to a Non-Commercial, Class C Maryland drivers license at the time of appointment.

EXAMINATION PROCEDURE

Licenses and Certifications
Applicants appointed to this classification must satisfactorily complete County-sponsored CPR, AED, First Aid, ServSafe, and Crowd Control training. These certifications must be maintained throughout employment.
Possession of a valid drivers license equivalent to a Non-Commercial, Class C Maryland drivers license is required at the time of appointment.
Physical and Environmental Conditions
The duties of this classification entail frequent walking, standing, and other limited physical activity, including travel between work sites.
Medical Examination and Employment Background Investigation

Salary
Annual Salary review - Step increases may be granted on anniversary date based on satisfactory job performance
General Increases - Cost of living increases and adjustments may be granted as legislated.
Longevity Increases - In accordance with the specific pay schedule, a full-time merit or classified employee may receive a longevity increase, equivalent to one step, upon completion of a certain number of years of classified service with the County.
