About the Opportunity

Foundation for Puerto Rico is building the foundations of an AI-enabled organization.

We are seeking a Senior AI Fellow to help design, build, and operationalize the systems, tools, and capabilities that will enable artificial intelligence to become a meaningful force across our organization and initiatives.

This role sits at the intersection of strategy, systems, infrastructure, knowledge management, product development, and organizational transformation.

The ideal candidate is both a builder and a systems thinker—someone capable of translating ambitious ideas into practical solutions that improve how people work, learn, collaborate, and create impact.

This is not a narrowly technical role.

It is an opportunity to help shape how an organization adopts AI, builds institutional knowledge, develops internal tools, and creates the conditions for innovation at scale.

What You'll Help Build

AI Infrastructure & Knowledge Systems

Design and support the evolution of Foundation for Puerto Rico's AI ecosystem, including:

• Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems
• Organizational knowledge repositories
• AI-enabled search and information retrieval
• Data organization and information architecture
• Integration of AI tools and platforms across workflows

AI Products & Internal Solutions

Support the creation of AI-powered tools and applications that strengthen organizational effectiveness, including:

• Internal AI assistants and copilots
• Knowledge agents
• Workflow automations
• Operational and project management tools
• Experimental AI prototypes and pilots

Institutional Knowledge & Organizational Learning

Help transform organizational knowledge into accessible and actionable systems by:

• Connecting documents, repositories, CRM platforms, and knowledge sources
• Improving knowledge accessibility and discoverability
• Supporting institutional memory and organizational learning
• Ensuring information can be effectively leveraged by AI systems

AI Adoption & Capability Building

Support the organization's transition toward AI-enabled ways of working by:

• Developing AI training and onboarding resources
• Supporting internal learning experiences
• Identifying opportunities for AI adoption across teams
• Helping establish best practices and standards
• Encouraging experimentation and responsible AI use

Innovation & Strategic Exploration

Work alongside Foundation leadership, teams, and collaborators to:

• Evaluate emerging AI opportunities
• Explore innovative concepts and pilots
• Translate strategic priorities into practical solutions
• Advance initiatives that strengthen Puerto Rico's future through technology and innovation

Who We're Looking For

We are seeking a highly curious, entrepreneurial, and systems-oriented individual who combines technical capability with strong execution skills.

Ideal candidates bring experience in several of the following areas:

• Generative AI platforms and workflows
• Prompt engineering
• Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems
• AI assistants and agent-based systems
• Knowledge management systems
• Workflow automation and orchestration
• APIs and system integrations
• Information architecture and data organization
• Cloud-based environments and AI infrastructure
• Emerging AI technologies and trends

Experience with tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, OpenAI APIs, Perplexity, Copilot, n8n, vector databases, automation platforms, or similar technologies is highly desirable.
