Role Overview

Our client is building a new enterprise AI and automation capability focused on improving employee productivity, modernizing internal workflows, and developing AI-enabled applications and automation across the organization. The Senior AI Platform Engineer will serve as the first full-time member dedicated to this capability and will work alongside existing internal contributors across Microsoft 365, Power Platform, cloud infrastructure, and related technical teams.

The environment is still at an early stage. Microsoft Copilot has been introduced broadly, while Copilot Studio, Power Platform integrations, Azure AI, AWS AI, and deeper enterprise AI integrations are continuing to be established. The engineer will help shape the technical direction, standards, architecture, governance, and operating model as this capability grows.

Primary Responsibilities

• Design and develop AI-enabled workflows, applications, agents, and automation solutions using Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, Power Platform, Azure AI, AWS AI, and other appropriate technologies.

• Evaluate internal business workflows and identify opportunities to improve productivity and efficiency through AI and automation.

• Translate existing manual and technical workflows into scalable automated solutions.

• Evaluate and recommend industry-standard AI frameworks, platforms, services, and third-party tools based on organizational needs.

• Architect AI solutions end to end, including integrations, supporting infrastructure, security considerations, and operational support requirements.

• Partner with internal business and technology teams to understand requirements and develop practical AI-enabled solutions.

• Work closely with Microsoft 365, Power Platform, AWS, and other internal platform teams.

• Help establish and improve AI architecture standards, governance, security policies, usage policies, procedures, and technical documentation.

• Review existing AI guardrails and standards, identify gaps, and recommend appropriate changes as the technology and organizational needs evolve.

• Document workflows, architectures, implementation standards, policies, procedures, and operating practices.

• Support deployed AI solutions and participate in after-hours outage response as production responsibilities expand.

• Provide technical leadership as the client develops its enterprise AI capability from an early-stage environment into a mature operating function.

Required Technical Skills

• Professional experience working in AI, AI engineering, automation, or closely related AI-adjacent technology roles.

• Strong hands-on experience with at least one major enterprise AI ecosystem, particularly Microsoft Azure AI or AWS AI, with the ability to learn and work across additional platforms.

• Experience with Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, and the broader Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem.

• Experience designing AI-enabled workflows, applications, agents, integrations, or automation solutions.

• Understanding of enterprise automation architecture and how AI fits within broader workflow and application environments.

• Broad knowledge of current AI technologies, implementation patterns, frameworks, and supporting toolsets.

• Ability to evaluate new AI technologies and recommend appropriate platforms, standards, and approaches.

• Strong end-to-end solution architecture and integration capabilities.

• Strong technical documentation skills.

• Strong communication and internal stakeholder engagement skills.

• Understanding of AI governance, security, usage policies, guardrails, standards, and responsible enterprise deployment.

• Ability to provide technical leadership in an environment where AI capabilities, processes, and standards are still being established.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS Bedrock and related AWS AI services.

• Experience with Azure AI Foundry and related Microsoft AI services.

• Experience integrating Microsoft and AWS AI services or working across multiple AI platforms.

• Understanding of containerization and container-based application architectures.

• Working familiarity with Linux environments.

• Working familiarity with Infrastructure as Code.

• Experience with Microsoft Graph API, Azure Functions, or related Microsoft cloud development services.

• Experience helping establish or mature an enterprise AI program, platform, center of enablement, or similar emerging technology capability.
