Description At Amazon, we're building the world's fastest, most reliable delivery network - and Amazon Air is at the center of that ambition. Our dedicated air transportation network moves millions of packages daily, and now we're expanding that capability to serve external shippers. The Planning & Performance (P&P) team within Amazon Air determines where air capacity is needed, designs networks to deliver the fastest possible service, and partners with operators to bring those plans to life. We balance speed, cost, and quality across a complex, growing operation. We're looking for a Senior Planner to lead network and capacity planning for our external Air Cargo business. You'll bring supply chain and program management expertise to a high-visibility role - shaping how Amazon delivers for customers beyond our own marketplace. Air cargo experience is a plus but not required. Key job responsibilities - Design and operationalize product offerings for external Air Cargo customers leveraging the scale and flexibility of the Amazon Air network - Drive the development of new processes and technology to optimize capacity allocation between internal and external customers - Influence the long-term network strategy - Analyze historical shipment data and demand forecasts to identify network optimization opportunities - Serve as the primary liaison between AIR Planning & Performance (P&P) and Amazon Air Cargo (ACAR), ensuring alignment on priorities, constraints, and opportunities - Develop scenario models for new routes, seasonal demand shifts, and capacity constraints across both customer segments - Present strategy recommendations and trade-off analyses to senior leadership About the team The Planning & Performance (P&P) team within Amazon Air is responsible for network planning, scheduling, and revenue management. This role sits at the intersection of P&P and Amazon Air Cargo, serving as the primary bridge between teams. You'll understand customer needs, constraints, and opportunities on both sides, helping guide the future network toward serving more customers. We're a team of planners, analysts, and program managers who value analytical rigor, bias for action, and building from scratch in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Basic Qualifications - 5+ years of program or project management experience - 5+ years of supply chain experience - Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements - Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership Preferred Qualifications - 2+ years of driving process improvements experience - 5+ years of cargo or passenger airline network planning or revenue management experience Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. About the Company

A

Amazon

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
