The ideal candidate has deep expertise in air dispersion modeling techniques and tools, regulatory frameworks, and project management. This role offers the opportunity to lead high-impact projects, mentor junior staff, and shape technical strategy.Today's businesses are facing the most comprehensive and complicated suite of environmental regulations on record. We stand apart from other consulting firms by putting the client's needs at the forefront of everything we do, delivering innovative and responsive solutions across multiple practice areas.Key ResponsibilitiesLead air dispersion modeling projects using AERMOD, CALPUFF, and other EPA-approved modelsConduct PSD, NAAQS, and air toxics impact assessmentsPrepare technical reports, modeling protocols, and permit application support documentsInterface with clients, regulators, and stakeholders to guide modeling strategies and compliance pathwaysMentor and provide technical oversight to junior staff and modelersStay abreast of evolving air quality regulations and modeling guidanceSupport business development by contributing to proposals and client presentationsEnsure quality assurance/quality control in all modeling work productsRequirementsBachelor's or Master's degree in Atmospheric Science, Environmental Engineering, Meteorology, or related field7+ years of experience in air quality modeling and permittingExpert-level knowledge of AERMOD and regulatory modeling proceduresProficient in meteorological data processing tools (AERMET, MMIF, WRF, etc.)Strong understanding of federal and state air permitting programs (e.g., PSD, NSR, Title V)Excellent written and verbal communication skillsProven ability to manage multiple projects and lead teamsPreferred QualificationsExperience with modeling software customization or scripting (e.g., Python, R, Shell scripting)Prior consulting experience with industrial or energy sector clientsProfessional licensure (PE, CM, etc.) is a plusEDGE strives to hire and retain the best and brightest candidates available in the marketplace.
