The duties of this position will include planning, directing and monitoring all aspects of multi‑discipline airport projects with high degrees of technical complexity, typically in excess of $5million, and will manage project staff.Responsibilities Act as a doer/seller for current and future airport related projects in the Florida marketWork in partnership with regional business development directors and client managers to develop a short‑term marketing action plan for longer‑term program developmentConduct design development and contract document work sessions at project sites in conjunction with Project Managers, appropriate technical professionals and other disciplinesWill be involved with the production and coordination of several projects concurrently, and will establish client relations and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetingsProvide overall support to area leadership to maintain regional aviation planning and design practice profitability, staff development, and client relationshipsAttend and participate in public meetingsLead development of concepts and presentation materials for public meetings and project websites/pagesSupervise designers and continue to build a growing, multi‑disciplinary planning team, with special attention to developing internal staff for future project manager/deputy project manager rolesTypically supervise project staff and act as a mentor for less experienced staff membersWork with Business/Accounting Managers, Project Controllers, and the Area Manager or Office Principals for project reviewsManage staffing and workload through the entire project's development to complete documents on scheduleLead project teams to successfully deliver on a variety of aviation projectsLead writing of technical reports, presentations, and other materialsResponsible for implementing QA/QC procedures, and for the execution of training for personnel as established by strategic plansResponsible for developing all deliverables with technical accuracy and quality controlPerform other duties as assignedPreferred Qualifications Experience with large, multi‑disciplined programs at hub airportsExperience working on and leading large aviation projectsFlorida PE licenseMaster's degreePMP certificationAICP CertificationMinimum of 10 years of experience in aviation/airfield designGood communication, leadership, planning and mentoring skillsKnowledge of aviation market in Florida including client relationships and past project experiencePrevious construction, project management, and aviation planning experienceAutoCAD skillsDemonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and personnelUnderstanding of aviation planning and design principlesPositive attitude and ability to work independently or as part of a teamPossesses excellent analytical and communication skills, as well as leadership, planning and mentoring skillsAbility to multi‑task and stay organizedCommitted to quality improvement and HDR valuesExperience with Microsoft tools such as MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and OneDriveAdditional Requirements Must be highly responsive to requests from clientsStrong verbal and written skillsPreference given to local candidatesRequired Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering10 years related experienceA minimum 5 years project management experienceRequires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered.
